Shillong: Police in Meghalaya’s Jaintia Hills on Monday arrested Ramesh Dkhar, who escaped from Jowai Jail along with five others on Saturday.
Ramesh Dkhar and another prisoner managed to escape the wrath of the mob at Shangpung in West Jaintia Hills district on Sunday.
Ramesh Dkhar was arrested by the Meghalaya Police on Monday.
Notably, four of the six prisoners who escaped from Juwai Jail in Meghalaya were beaten to death by a mob at Shangpung in Jaintia
Hills district.

Notably, at least six hardened criminals managed to escape from a jail in Meghalaya’s Jawai district on Saturday.
The “jail break” reportedly happened Saturday afternoon around 1:30 p.m.
The criminals, while escaping from the jail, attacked the jail guards with sharp weapons.
Apart from I Love You, the other five convicts who managed to escape are: Ramesh Dakhar, Marsanki Triang, Rakman Long Lamare, Shidorki Dakhar and Lodestar Tang.
Ramesh Dakhar was arrested along with I Love You Talang in the twin murder case.
The two are accused of murdering taxi drivers – Damihipaya Popeng and Philoman Kharsahnoh – in Meghalaya’s Juwai in August.
