NPP-BJP Alliance
Shillong: There will be a post-poll alliance between NPP and BJP in Meghalaya, only if the situation demands it.
This was said by NPP National President and Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on Sunday.
The Meghalaya Chief Minister made it clear that the NPP will not form a pre-poll alliance with the BJP.
We have always fought elections on our own account. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma said that the NPP has never had a pre-poll alliance.
The Chief Minister of Meghalaya said, “We fought the previous Manipur elections, Nagaland elections, Mizoram and Arunachal elections on our own.
He further said that BJP cannot form the government in Meghalaya on its own.
BJP claims that they are going to form the government. I think this is not a realistic statement,” said Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma.
He also said that there is “no united opposition” in Meghalaya after the “half-disintegration of the Congress”.
“There are doubts in people’s minds about whether the opposition parties can form the government as they are no longer united,” said the Meghalaya chief minister.
