Meghalaya MLAs, 4-day Leadership Training Program for Ministers

Shillong, May 20: Twenty-eight Meghalaya legislators and three ministers attended a four-day training program on leadership and public policy at the Indian School of Business in Mohali.

He said the training, organized by the Indian Institute of Public Policy, an independent policy think tank of the institute, and the Meghalaya Legislative Research Fellowship Program (MLRF), aims to strengthen the legislature and address leadership challenges for policy makers. And to find a solution.
The workshop ended on Thursday with the participating members visiting the Punjab Assembly to discuss with the legislators there. Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit also spoke to the members during a special dinner.

“The workshop has made us aware of the importance of leadership, serving the people more effectively, and working in compassionate and hard-working ways for our citizens. Personally, it has certainly encouraged me that I will do my best for the state and the nation I serve, ”Meghalaya Sports Minister Banteidor Langdoh told PTI.
He said that once again it was like sitting in a classroom with sessions every day from 9 am to 4 pm focusing on policy challenges for India and Meghalaya in particular.

Accompanying Banteidor were ministers Hamlet Dohling and Rankin Tongkhar .
The workshop provided legislators with insights on the formulation and implementation of research-based policy through case studies, group assignments and team building activities.
The convener of the program, Dr. Aarushi Jane, said, “The sessions were initiated by ISB faculty experts and experienced practitioners from multiple domains, covering aspects related to public policy, leadership management, innovation, sustainable development, digital transformation and public finance. The Institute is training and mentoring fellows under a two-year MLRF program. He further said that the training of legislators and staff through this workshop would further enhance the dynamics of work in the legislature, procedure and other functions in the assembly.
