Meghalaya: Life convict escapes from prison in Jowai

Meghalaya: Life convict escapes from prison in Jowai. An inmate serving a life sentence for murder escaped from Meghalaya’s Jowai District Jail on Wednesday.

The fugitive has been identified as Shining Star Pala, who was convicted in a murder case and this is the second time he has been released from prison.
An investigation has been launched into the incident and police are conducting raids to nab the accused.

The fugitive reportedly escaped from prison in May 2017.
However, he was apprehended by the police when he was traced as he along with three others had stolen a mobile phone from a mobile store in Amulong.

Police are not trying to trace Pala and have said he will be arrested soon.
