New Delhi: Indian and Kazakh troops will conduct a two-week anti-terror exercise in Meghalaya’s Umroi from Thursday with the aim of enhancing cooperation between the two sides.
The annual training exercise was started in 2016 as Exercise ‘Prabal Dostyk’ which was renamed as Exercise Kazind in 2018.
“The sixth edition of the Indo-Kazakhstan joint training exercise ‘KAZIND-22’ is scheduled to be held from December 15 to 28 in Umroi,” the army said.
He said a Kazakh army team consisting of troops from its regional command would take part in the exercise.
The Army said the objective of the exercise is to build positive military relations, adopt each other’s best practices and enhance interoperability during counter-terrorism operations in semi-urban and forest scenarios.
“This joint exercise will enable the two forces to train, plan and execute a series of joint tactical exercises to neutralize potential threats to UN peacekeeping operations,” the military said in a statement. I am facing,” the army said in a statement.
“The scope of this exercise includes command post exercise (CPX) at battalion level and field training exercise (FTX) at company level on sub-conventional operations.”
The Army said that the KAZIND exercise will increase the level of defense cooperation between the Indian Army and the Armed Forces of Kazakhstan, which will further boost bilateral relations between the two countries.
