Meghalaya: HNLC leaders will visit the state again for peace talks.

Shillong: Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) leader will again visit the northeastern state of Meghalaya for peace talks.

Local media reports claim that HNLC leaders will travel to Shillong in Meghalaya this week for peace talks with the government.
According to reports, the HNLC leaders will give a ‘message’ to the government outlining the issues on which the organization would like to base the peace talks.

In particular, the HNLC was soon to announce its demands, issues and agendas.
Earlier on August 5, at least five senior leaders of the banned HNLC visited Meghalaya for peace talks with the government.
The HNLC team consisted of its Vice-Chairman – Manbhalang Jirua, Political Secretary – Arister Val Thongani and Foreign Secretary – Frang Kuper Diengdo and their two PSOs (Personal Security Officers) – Aiborlem Marbaniang and Storgy Lyngdoh.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma had said that a “complicated process” of peace talks with the banned HNLC was on the way.
Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma had said that the state government would try to “expedite” the dialogue process with HNLC.

The Meghalaya Chief Minister also said that investigations by central probe agencies will not hinder the peace process with the HNLC.
