Shillong: Meghalaya Governor – Satya Pal Malik – known for not mincing his words – has once again hit back at the Centre.

On the occasion, Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik criticized the central government for not implementing the minimum support price (MSP) for farmers’ produce.

The Meghalaya governor said schemes designed to benefit farmers are not being implemented because of “PM Modi’s business friend” Gautam Adani.

Malik said that the country’s farmers cannot be defeated and will continue to protest until their demands are met.
Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik made this statement while addressing a program at a cow sanctuary in the Kira village of Noah in Haryana.

If MSP is not implemented and MSP is not legally guaranteed, there will be another fight and this time it will be a tough fight. You can’t beat this country farmer. You cannot scare him… Since you cannot send ED or Income Tax officers, how will you scare the farmer?” the Indian Express quoted the Meghalaya governor as saying.
He said that MSP is not being implemented because the Prime Minister has a friend named Adani, who has now become Asia’s richest man in five years.

He alleged that Adani had built a big godown in Panipat and stored wheat bought at cheap prices in it.

“When there is inflation, he will sell wheat…so these PM’s friends will make profit and farmers will suffer.” This will not be tolerated and will be fought against,” the Meghalaya governor said.
