Meghalaya Cabinet minister Kyrmen Shylla elected UDP Youth president
According to party sources, Meghalaya Cabinet Minister Kyrmen Shylla was on Monday elected president of the United Democratic Party (UDP) state youth wing.
He expressed confidence that UDP would lead the new government in 2023.
“The new body will work hard to ensure the party wins a lot of seats and I am confident that the UDP will lead the new government in 2023,” Sheila told reporters after the state youth wing meeting.
Sheila MLA Balajied Synrem as Secretary, Mawphlang MLA Eugeneson Lyngdoh as Chief Youth Organizer, Ranikor MLA Pius Marwein as MLA, Mookaiaw MLA Nujorki Sungoh and Baitbari MD C. Ashahel de Shira has been elected as the working president.
The 60-member House has 8 UDP MLAs.
Sheila said the youth wing would try to reach every corner of the state, including the Garo Hills, where the UDP has zero representation.
