Massive long march by Manipur Youth League to forge unified force
Imphal: Manipur Youth League (MAYOL) Convener Asem Prince outlined the objectives of a massive long march launched today to spread the strong ideals of unity and usher in a new era of revolution in the diverse regions of Manipur.
The march was flagged off from Kangla Fort this morning.
Addressing the media amid the grandeur of Kangla Uttara Shanglin, the Prince asserted, “The youth of Manipur Youth League (MAYOL) are sensing a pervasive decline socially, politically and economically in every aspect of Manipur.
The current situation in Manipur has made decision-making a formidable challenge for us.
Continuing his address, Asem Prince emphasized the critical issue of the indigenous Meitei population facing attacks from Zo-Kuki communities, signaling an alarming attempt to eradicate the Meitei presence from the state.
Stressing the urgency of a unified front, Prince asserted, “A cohesive alliance among the Meitei communities is imperative to confront such existential threats. We must respond socially with unwavering determination and resilience.
This is the pivotal message we aim to convey and instill among the people of our state.”
Expressing unwavering confidence, he declared, “We firmly believe that with a resolute and unified decision, we can confront any challenges that loom before us. Hence, I earnestly appeal to every resident of the state to lend their support to this movement and collectively confront the myriad challenges that may arise.”
Asem Prince, as the Convenor, articulated the grand scale of the ongoing march, illuminating its expansive reach that extends into diverse corners. With meticulous planning, he elucidated, “Commencing today, our march is set to traverse far and wide, convening crucial meetings at strategic junctures across over 40 locations. This is not merely a symbolic gesture; it’s a concerted effort to engage with the grassroots.”
In a testament to the enormity of the endeavor, Prince detailed, “The trajectory of our march spans over 600 localities, encompassing a formidable distance of 534 kilometers. This extensive coverage is a deliberate choice, aimed at ensuring that our message of national regeneration resonates across every nook and cranny of Manipur.”
The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) Coordinator, Jitendra Ningomba, officially initiated the “Long March for National Regeneration.”
