
Marcuise Marak in support of NPP says; BJP, TMC will win no seat
Williamnagar: Two-time MLA from Williamnagar, Marcuise Marak, has said that the BJP and the TMC will fight to win seats from the Garo Hills in the upcoming assembly elections, and that he will favor the NPP in state politics. There are no risks.
NPP’s Marcuise Marak will be in the fray along with former minister and Congress candidate Deborah C. Marak, AITC’s Alphonsiush Marak along with JD-U candidates and an independent candidate from Willimanagar constituency.
However, he believes that the big fight will be with the Congress. “My real fight will be with the Congress and I believe I will win by a big margin based on the support of the people of Williamnagar,” Marcuise said.
He said that both TMC and BJP are unlikely to win in the entire Garo Hills, not only in William Nagar. He added that both the parties will have to struggle to win seats in the region.
“They are not a threat to us. You must have seen just a few days ago when TMC leader Mukul Sangma came to campaign in Williamnagar, hardly anyone was there. It only shows that the TMC and What is the influence of its leaders on the people. We are going to get maximum number of seats from Garo Hills,” the lawmaker said.
The NPP leader added that during his tenure, the NPP-led government has initiated many developmental works.
He added that I am preparing my report card about the work done in William Nagar which we will present to the people of the constituency.
Citing some of his achievements, he said the city’s water problems would soon become a problem of the past as the Williamnagar Greater Water Scheme was approved by the NPP-led government.
Besides, he referred to the development of roads within the city which was undertaken under the auspices of the World Bank with an amount of over Rs 44 crore. He said that a government college has also been built during my tenure.
He said, “The biggest achievement was the settlement of the long-pending demand for land settlement in Kusimikolgre and Warima areas where over 1,300 families benefited from the land tenure scheme provided by the government. picked up.”
“It has been pending for a long time and no one has taken the matter seriously enough. The tag of government land grabbers (myself included) will now be removed. I feel people have understood. That I am trying to help them as much as possible,” the NPP leader said.
