Manipur:In Churachandpur a woman killed after hitting by truck

Churachandpur: A couple was hit by a two-wheeler truck in Manipur’s Churachandpur district on Monday, killing the woman on the spot.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident took place at about 2:30 pm in front of Canara Bank in Tuibong when a truck on official duty hit a two-wheeler driven by the husband.
The woman was crushed from the waist down and died on the spot. Her husband fell on the other side and was safe.

The local people rushed the woman and her husband to the district hospital, but the woman was declared dead on arrival.

According to family sources, the accident took place when the couple was returning after attending a funeral in a nearby village.

The deceased has been identified as 59-year-old Vanramawi.
