CM Brain Singh said on Facebook, “Today chaired a discussion in his Secretariat on Mutton rearing and development in all hill districts ian the presence of Minister for Transport, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Mr. Khashim Vashum”.
The CM also said that mithuns have an important place in the socio-economic life of the tribal communities of Manipur. “Cow breeds are also associated with folklore, culture and religious activities in the state,” he added.
Considering the socio-economic importance of mithuns in tribal culture, special attention has been paid to the conservation of mithuns in the state.
mithuns, which is semi-domesticated or reared freely in the wild, is found in some hilly districts of Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Mizoram.
