Manipur: UNLF cadre arrested near Myanmar border in Chorachandpur

Imphal: In a major crackdown, security forces on Friday arrested a self-styled lance corporal of the banned group United National Liberation Front (UNLF) near the Indo-Myanmar border in Churachandpur district, an official said.
Acting on specific information, troops of Khoga Battalion of Assam Rifles under IGAR (South) launched an operation and arrested the UNLF cadre.
The arrested cadre has been handed over to Thangat police station for further investigation, the official said.

Meanwhile, the Modi Battalion of the Assam Rifles also distributed essential items to the students of the Mission Blind School at Palal in Kakching District on Thursday.
