Manipur observes 8th International Yoga Day
Manipur observes the 8th International Yoga Day. Manipur Chief Minister N Baran Singh on Tuesday joined the 8th International Yoga Day at Khaman Lampak Indoor Stadium in Imphal with the rest of the world.
The state-level observation was conducted by the Directorate of AYUSH, Manipur, and the State AYUSH Society, Manipur in collaboration with the Directorate of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of Manipur. This day was celebrated in different parts of the state with the participation of a large number of people with the theme ‘Yoga for Humanity’.
During the program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s address on the occasion of the 8th International Day of Yoga was telecast live from the famous Mysore Palace in Karnataka.
As part of the observation, a common yoga protocol was also performed by everyone in the venue.
“It is a pleasure to join the nation in celebrating the 8th International Yoga Day. Yoga is an invaluable gift to humanity from our great country,” CM Baron Singh said on Facebook.
Singh further said that the celebration of World Yoga Day all over the world is a testament to the growing soft power of India under the leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Chief Minister also appealed to the people to promote yoga and extend their lives through this ancient treasure of knowledge.
