Manipur: Northeast Regional Sports Week started in Imphal.

Imphal: The Northeast Regional Sports Week kicked off on Thursday at the main stadium of the Khuman Chirag Sports Complex in Imphal in connection with the celebration of the nectar of independence.
Regional Sports Week is organized by the Youth Affairs and Sports Department of the Government of Manipur and is funded by the North Eastern Council (NEC).
During the Sports Week from April 28 to May 3, athletes from seven northeastern states including Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura and the host state of Manipur competed in selected fields of archery, badminton, boxing.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Ann Baron Singh welcomed all the participating teams and termed the hosting of seven northeastern states in the sports week as a moment of pride for Manipur.
