Manipur landslide: 7 victims still missing. Despite continuous search operations by teams on the 15th day, seven persons are still missing after a landslide in Noni district of Manipur.
Noni Deputy Commissioner Haulianlal Guite said on Thursday that no bodies had been exhumed from the rubble for two days in a row and that seven people were still missing after the tragic landslide.
The death toll from a landslide that hit a railway construction camp in Makhom (Morningjing) on June 29 has risen to 54 so far. A total of 18 injured people were rescued from the landslide site on the first day of search and rescue operations. .
On Wednesday, Relief and Disaster Management Minister Awangbow Newmai said the state government was making every effort to locate the missing bodies and that search operations would continue for the next two days, followed by a review meeting on Saturday.

The Minister also assured that the search operation would continue till the search for all the missing persons.
Meanwhile, Nemcha Kipgen, Minister of Textiles, Commerce and Industry on Thursday visited the landslide-hit area of Marangching (Makhaum) in Noni district and provided financial assistance to the relief committee.
Expressing solidarity with the families of the victims, the Minister also thanked all those involved in the rescue operation over the past two weeks.
