The death toll from a landslide that hit a railway construction camp in Makhom (Morningjing) on ​​June 29 has risen to 54 so far. A total of 18 injured people were rescued from the landslide site on the first day of search and rescue operations. .

On Wednesday, Relief and Disaster Management Minister Awangbow Newmai said the state government was making every effort to locate the missing bodies and that search operations would continue for the next two days, followed by a review meeting on Saturday.

Expressing solidarity with the families of the victims, the Minister also thanked all those involved in the rescue operation over the past two weeks.
