Manipur: IRB youth suspended for renting out government quarters to a citizen
Imphal: A young man of the Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) has been suspended in Manipur on Wednesday for subletting another family to his government’s allotted quarters.
According to the suspension order, M Ginchinkhup, a follower of the 5th IRB, was found sabotaging the official accommodation allotted to a Thangjagin Zoo.
The suspended IRB youth has been asked to remain at the 5th IRB Battalion Headquarters during the period of suspension. The order further stated that they would not leave the headquarters without permission.
He added that he would be entitled to an acceptable living allowance under the rules during this period.
Earlier, Chief Minister Ann Baron Singh had assured that all illegal occupants would be evicted from government allotted quarters in the state. Singh also warned government employees who rent out their allotted quarters to others with suspension or dismissal.
Singh posted on Facebook, “The state government will evict all illegal occupants of government quarters and government employees who are renting out their quarters to others will be suspended, facing suspension.” And further action will be taken for his removal, “Singh posted on Facebook.
He added that the operation was being carried out to curb the illegal activities of many illegal occupants of the quarters.
