Imphal: The Manipur government has set up Inner Line Permit (ILP) centers in at least three railway stations in the state.
ILP centers have been set up at Manipur’s Vangaichungpao, Rani Gaidinliu and Thingou railway stations.
Tousem Police Station has been entrusted with the task of issuing ILPs at Rani Gaidinliu and Vangaichungpao railway stations in Manipur.
On the other hand, the task of issuing ILP at Thingou railway station in Manipur has been given to Khongsang Police Station.
Notably, the Manipur Home Department had issued an order on November 4 to set up ILP centers in these three railway stations.
Manipur Inner Line Permit (ILP) is an official travel document issued by the state government to allow an Indian citizen to visit Manipur for a specified period.
The ILP government was extended to Manipur on 11 December 2019, two days after Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced the Union government’s decision to do so in Parliament.
According to the system, a 15-day temporary pass will cost Rs 100, while laborers can get a six-month pass at the same charge.
Repeat visitors can get a six-month pass for Rs 1,000.
