Imphal: Manipur Education Department on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Infosys for implementation of Infosys Springboard.
The MoU was signed in the Cabinet Hall of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in the presence of Chief Minister N. Biren Singh. Education Minister Basanta Singh and MLA Sapam Kunjakeswor Singh were also present on the occasion.
The MoU was signed between Education Commissioner (Schools) Gyan Prakash, Education Director (Schools) L Nandakumar and Corporate Affairs Head Santhosh Ananthapura and Infosys Senior Vice President Thirumala Arohi.
This MoU is for enhancing the effectiveness of teaching-learning activities and teaching through technology assistance under Corporate Social Responsibility Scheme. The scheme has both student and teacher-based components and is fully aligned with the National Education Policy 2020.
Appreciating Infosys for the new venture, CM Baran Singh said that the Infosys Springboard platform will boost collaboration.
Emphasizing that the National Education Policy is a remarkable policy, the Chief Minister said that it has already been adopted in the state and the state needs support for its full implementation.
Mentioning schemes like the School Fagathansi Mission and Star Education, Singh said the government has launched schemes and projects to improve the education system in the state.
The School Fitness Mission was initially set up in 60 schools – one school from each of the 60 assembly constituencies.
Through Infosys Springboard, a curriculum-rich virtual platform providing corporate-grade learning experiences with close educator-learner collaboration will be provided for lifelong learners from Class 6 onwards.
The Faculty Development Program will consist of a series of sessions on “Facilitation for Engagement” course towards effective teaching techniques. It will also include instructional design and content creation and introduction to emerging and digital technologies. The program will also include information on leveraging online platforms for effective learner engagement, and authoring courses and assessments on online platforms.
The program will be delivered virtually by Infosys experts online. Teachers can also upskill themselves through the program.
Infosys Springboard empowers students through fully on-the-job learning to prepare for emerging jobs and career opportunities. It teaches them to better support learners on their learning journey using the platform’s engagement features — motivating them to learn, leveraging teacher-student relationships, and just-in-time learning.
