Manipur: CM Brian Singh presided over the first meeting of Shirui Lily Festival 2022
Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh presided over the first meeting of the organizing committee of the Shirui Lily Festival 2022 to be held at Ukhrul district headquarters here on Wednesday.
Taking to his Twitter handle, CM Baron Singh said, “Presided over the first meeting of the organizing committee of the Shirui Festival 2022. It is a great pleasure that the Shirui Festival has resumed after a gap of two years due to epidemic diseases.
Singh said that no stone would be left unturned in organizing the Shirui Festival 2022, which aims to promote sustainable tourism with great success.
During the meeting, the organizing committees discussed a number of agendas, including the timing, location and budget of the festival at the Ukhrul district headquarters, among others.
The meeting also considered arranging more parking spaces and space to avoid traffic congestion during the festival.
The Shirui Lily Festival is the state’s annual eco-tourism festival in honor of the Shirui Lily, a unique breed of ground lily and opens only on the Shirui Kashong Peak. The festival attracts tourists from other parts of the country as well as foreigners.
However, during the last two years, the festival, organized by the state tourism department, was canceled due to COVID-19 epidemic and consequent lockdown.
