Manipur Chief Minister Baron Singh is on his first visit to Delhi after the formation of a new government in the state.
Although the agenda of the meeting is not yet known, it is hoped that Manipur Chief Minister Baron Singh will brief Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the important steps that are likely to be taken by the new state government in Manipur in the future.
Earlier, after taking over as Manipur Chief Minister for a second term, Baron Singh had announced that the new government would work to rid the state of corruption.

He also said that the new government of Manipur would work for peace and overall development in the state by bringing various insurgent organizations active in the state to the negotiating table.
It is noteworthy that the Union Home Ministry has also withdrawn the status of “disturbing area” from the areas under the jurisdiction of 15 police stations in Manipur.
The BJP formed a new government in Manipur with an absolute majority of 32 seats in the 60-member assembly in the recent Assembly elections.
