Manipur: A female UNLF cadre arrested from Imphal West

Imphal: Assam Rifles troops in a joint operation with Manipur police have arrested a female cadre belonging to the banned organization United National Liberation Front (UNLF) and a drug dealer in two separate operations. An official said.
In the first incident, the IGAR (South) Assam Rifles Mantripukhri Battalion in a joint operation with Manipur police on Sunday arrested a female rebel of the banned group UNLF from Mongshangei in Imphal West district.
He said that based on the specific intelligence input provided by Assam Rifles, Manipur police launched an operation which led to the threat.
He added that the arrested rebel has been handed over to Singjamei police station for further investigation.

In another operation, the Keithelmanbi Battalion, under the auspices of IGAR (South), in a joint operation with Manipur police on Saturday foiled drug trafficking in Kakching district.
According to the statement, based on specific input from Assam Rifles, Manipur police launched a search operation and recovered 236 grams of brown sugar hidden in 20 cases of soap from a drug dealer in Pallel in Kakching district. He said that the value of the seized drugs was stated to be Rs. 95 lakh.

The recovered goods and drug dealer have been handed over to Kakching police station for further action.
