Manipur: 5 cycle godowns, 2 shops burnt down in Imphal market.

Imphal market: At least five cycle warehouses and two cloth shops were gutted in a fire at New Checkon Bazaar in Imphal East on Tuesday night, sources said.

However, no loss of life or property has been reported so far.

According to sources, the fire broke out at the house of one Laishram Abuhal Singh near New Chikon traffic point at around 12.15 am and soon spread to the adjoining shops and cycle sheds.

Fire tenders were pressed into action immediately after the incident.

The fire was brought under control by 4 am, preventing the flames from spreading to nearby houses.

The cause of the fire and the estimated loss of property are yet to be ascertained.
