New Delhi: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, days after he was sworn in as Chief Minister.
Saha, a 70-year-old BJP leader, was sworn in as the chief minister of the sensitive border state on Wednesday.
Eight more ministers, including Ratan Lal Nath, Paranjit Singh Roy, Santana Chakma, Bikash Debbarma and Sukla Charan Noatia, were also sworn in by Governor Satyadeo Narain Arya.
On his first visit to the national capital after taking oath, Saha met the Prime Minister.
“Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha met Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a tweet.
In the recent assembly elections in Tripura, BJP won 32 seats while its ally IPFT bagged one seat in the 60-member house.
Saha was made the Chief Minister in 2022 replacing Biplab Kumar Deb.
