Lt. Gen Rana Pratap says, along Indo-Myanmar troops increased

Assam: Lt. Gen. Rana Pratap Kalita said on April 15 that the Indian Army has increased the number of troops with Indo-Myanmar.

He also said that the Indian Army is upgrading its capabilities.
Talking to the media, he said that “the troop strength along Indo-Myanmar has been increased and the situation along LAC is quite stable”.
Meanwhile, the Indian Army is also focusing on skill training of ex-servicemen, and in February this year, Kalita said that an agreement between the Indian Army and the Assam government for skill training of ex-servicemen is expected soon.
He said this while inaugurating a two-day job rally at Narangi Military Station in the city, where he also expressed confidence that around 500-600 ex-servicemen would get employment by the end of the programme.
Speaking further on the occasion, he also asserted that the development of ex-servicemen is very important and the army is already in discussions with the Assam government in this regard.
An MoU with the Assam Skill Development Mission (ASDM) may be in place soon. The state government has already announced that it will recruit retired army officers as Deputy Superintendents of Police in its battalions to train the Assam Police personnel.
