LR Bishnoi assumes charge as new DGP of Meghalaya

Guwahati: Lajja Ram Bishnoi, an IPS officer of 1991 batch, assumed office as the new Director General of Police (DGP) of Meghalaya, on Friday.

Bishnoi took over the charge from Idashisha Nongrang, who was the officiating DGP of Meghalaya.

The last full-fledged DGP of Meghalaya was R Chandranathan, who retired on December 31, 2021.

Bishnoi assumed control over the charge from Idashisha Nongrang, who was the administering DGP of Meghalaya.

The last undeniable DGP of Meghalaya was R Chandranathan, who resigned on December 31, 2021.

Preceding be delegated as the state’s DGP, Bishnoi filled in as the Special Director General of Police (Training and Armed Police), Assam, and was likewise the in-control Inspector General of Police (IGP) of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR).
