Guwahati: The murder of Anjan Nath in Assam’s Guwahati’s Koinadhora has taken a plot twist similar to a Bollywood crime thriller in which his “wife/lover” along with his parents have been arrested.
On October 12, a man named Anjan Nath was shot dead by assailants near Koinadhora police point in Guwahati, Assam.
Initially, the whole scene appeared to be a mystery, but as the police cracked the case, some interesting facts came to light.
On Sunday, leading the investigation, Guwahati Police’s Crime Branch arrested three persons who allegedly carried out the murder.
Soon after his arrest, the police arrest Gitashree Sinha who claims to be his wife while her parents deny it. Along with Gitashree, the police also arrested her parents Arijit Sinha and Jharna Sinha.
Talking about the arrests, a police source said the case has several angles including a relationship triangle.
While Anjan and Gitashree were in a relationship, their parents were against it for their own reasons.
Among the three persons arrested in the case, Gitashree was also reported to be involved with a businessman Sourabh Goenka.
On further investigation it was found that Gitashree and her parents were involved in the incident.
They allegedly planned to kill the man together.
Sources said that Sourabh was informed about Anjan’s location that night by Gitashree as she was the only one who knew him.
It is suspected that Arijit Sinha was the mastermind behind this entire incident.
Her father did not approve of Anjan and Gitashree’s relationship and preferred that she marry Sourabh Goenka, a settled businessman.
Sourabh Goenka killed Anjan as per his alleged plan with the help of Govinda Kumar and Arvinda Roy.
Anjan Nath was not financially strong and had alcohol problems.
For this, Gitashree’s family felt that Anjan was a hindrance to their divorced daughter’s marriage and the man was subsequently killed.
The other suspects were identified as Saurabh Goenka, Govinda Kumar and Arundha Roy on Saturday night.
The police also seized a motorcycle allegedly used by the accused.
The police said that the three suspects involved in the murder had bought the murder weapon, a pistol, from Bihar.
Police also seized seven mobile phones.
The victim, Anjan Nath, was shot by unknown persons at Koinadhora in Assam’s Guwahati on Thursday evening and later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The youth, identified as Anjan Nath, a resident of Latakata area, reportedly died at Metro Hospital.
The youth was allegedly shot in the chest.
