Longding protest against NSCN, demand release of Gaon Bara
Tinsukia: Hundreds of local youths marched with placards against the National Socialist Council of Nagalim in Arunachal Pradesh’s Longding district, demanding the unconditional release of Nafo Burah , the village head of Lauksim village.
The placards read, “No riots, we want peace, stop kidnapping NSCN, autonomy does not mean punishing ordinary people – RSU, NSCN (K-YA) stop harassing us, NSCN (K-) YA) Leave the landing for peace. ”
The development came a day after Boham was abducted at gunpoint and could not be traced more than 48 hours after the abduction.
According to sources, angry villagers of Kanubari, along with the Rujen Students Union (RSU), came out openly to express their outrage against the illegal activities of insurgent groups operating in Longding District.
Protesters came in large numbers to Lauxim village and chanted slogans against the insurgents. “They unanimously promised the unconditional release of Boham from the custody of the NSCN (K-YA) rebels,” the source added.
Meanwhile, security forces have launched a combing operation to free Gawan Bara. According to the latest reports, the NSCN (K-YA) kidnappers, led by self-proclaimed Lieutenant Wangbet Wangjen, are hiding in the woods around Jaboka village in Moon District.
