Kohima: A biographical account of former Nagaland Chief Secretary, Temjen Toy, titled “Not Just Another Bureaucrat: Temjan Toy as I Knew Him”, written by former IPR Director Limawati Longchar, Chief Launched by Secretary Jay Alam, IAS during a function at Hotel Japfü,, Kohima on Friday.
During the launch of the book, author Limawati Longchar expressed the significance of the occasion, stressing that the book serves as a celebration of Temjen Toy’s life.
He said that the purpose of the book is to highlight the adventures and positive aspects of Toy’s life instead of dwelling on bitter memories. He urged friends and family to remember Temjen Toy as a man who lived life to the fullest and contributed to the state, who died with dignity.
Acknowledging the collaborative efforts that brought the book to life, Longchar thanked the benefactors and friends of Temjen Toy, particularly mentioning the support he received from officers like Menukhol John and Elias Lotha during the writing journey.
Chief Secretary Nagaland, Jay Alam, IAS, while releasing the book expressed his feelings on the untimely death of Temjen Toy.
Reflecting on the passage of time, he notes that the book stands as a testament to the toy’s enduring legacy.
Alam reminisced about his experiences living with Toy, not only as a bureaucrat but as someone who dealt with colleagues on a personal level.
Appreciating the author’s simple and straightforward portrayal, the scholar pointed out that the chosen title captures the essence of Temjen Toy’s personality well.
The launching program was presided over by Joint Director IPR Asangla Imsong.
The programme was attended by friends, family and well-wishers of Temjen Toy attended along with DIPR officials.
