Kuki man David Thiek beheaded BJP MLA's security guard liable

Bishnupur: Mairembam Romesh Mangang, the security guard of Kumbi BJP MLA Shanti Kumar alias Sanisam Premchandra Singh, has been charged with David Thiek murder, sources have claimed.
In a photo that went viral, Mangang can be seen holding Thiek’s severed head in one hand and a knife in the other.
According to an affidavit filed by him for the general elections to the Manipur Legislative Assembly, Singh, 46, is the MLA from Kumbi constituency.
Coming back to David Thiek, he was the man whose severed head was placed on a wall made of bamboo sticks in a residential area in Bishnupur district.
Although the video has resurfaced, however, it is old and first surfaced on July 2. According to sources, the man was killed during an encounter at 12 am on July 2 in Manipur’s Bishnpur district, in which a total of three people, including the man, were killed.
Sources further claimed that a group of militants carried out a brutal attack in the bordering areas of Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts of the state in which several houses were set on fire and some people were also reportedly abducted.
He further claimed that the person who was beheaded during the clashes was beheaded and his severed head was displayed at various places by the armed militants.
It is noteworthy that this incident of violence happened exactly a day after Chief Minister N Biren Singh made it clear that he would not resign from his post in view of the sensitive situation in the state.
Singh’s statement came after a high-voltage drama outside his residence where a large crowd of people gathered outside his residence and urged him to step down.
