Maligaon: To further improve Agartala’s rail connectivity with the rest of the country, North East Frontier Railway has decided to extend Guwahati-Kolkata-Guwahati Express service to Agartala. Train No. 02518/02517 (Guwahati – Kolkata – Guwahati) Express will be extended to Agartala with a new train no. 02502/02501 (Agartala – Kolkata – Agartala) Express once a week. Both the trains will run till 30 April 2023.
The inauguration special of this extension will be flagged off by the President of India on 13 October 2022 from Agartala Railway Station at 9:25 AM.
The inaugural special train between Agartala and Kolkata will leave Agartala station at 09:25 hrs on 13 October 2022 and reach Kolkata at 18:50 hrs the next day. In the return direction, the train will depart Kolkata on 14 Oct 2022 at 22:00 hrs and arrive Agartala on 16 Oct 2022 at 08:00 hrs. Opening Special New Karimganj, New Hafling, Guwahati, Goalpara Town, Kokrajhar, New Coochbehar, Kishanganj, Katwa and Bandel. It will run with a 14-coach configuration. One first class AC, five AC three tiers, six sleeper class coaches, one general seating and one guard less luggage coach.
During its regular operation, Train No. 02502 (Agartala – Kolkata) Express will depart from Agartala every Wednesday at 07:30 hrs and reach Kolkata at 15:00 hrs the next day. In return direction, train no. 02501 (Kolkata – Agartala) Express will depart Kolkata every Sunday at 21:40 hrs and reach Agartala at 05:15 hrs on Tuesdays.
Current train number 02518 (Guwahati – Kolkata) Express will depart from Guwahati at 21:00 hrs every Saturday and reach Calcutta at 15:00 hrs next day. In return direction, train no. 02517 (Kolkata – Guwahati) Express will depart Kolkata every Thursday at 21:40 hrs and reach Guwahati next day at 16:15 hrs.
Details of stoppages and timings of this train are available through IRCTC website and NTES and are also being notified on various newspapers and social media platforms of N.F. Railways. Passengers are requested to confirm the details before starting their journey.
