
Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) observes 43rd foundation day
Imphal: The banned Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) celebrated its 43rd foundation day on Saturday with a main event held at its 131 battalion.
The outlawed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) is more concerned with the preservation of Meitei culture and demands secession of Manipur from India.
A release signed by In-charge Secretary Information S Mangal said that observation was also organized at the Central Headquarters (CHQ), General Headquarters (GHQ), Training Center and tactical units in different areas.
The program started with lamp and flag hoisting, after which the annual report of the central committee was read.
The local people of Manipur are on the verge of being overwhelmed by growing outsiders and a large influx of Myanmar nationals across the borders is the biggest threat to the state’s already fragile population, the release said.
Mendicant Manipur has been transformed from an industrial to a consumer economy unsustainably dependent on external supplies for basic needs including food, medicine and textiles.
Manipur has been under the influence of drugs and a large number of youth have fallen victim to tobacco products, alcohol and pharmaceutical drugs.
He alleged that poppy is now cultivated on a large scale in Manipur and heroin is manufactured in the state.
