Guwahati: Assam-based Hemant Kumar Lohia killed, who was serving as Director General of Prisons of Jammu and Kashmir Police, has been found murdered.

Jammu and Kashmir DGP (Prisons) Hemant Kumar Lohia was allegedly murdered on October 3 at his house in Udaywala area of ​​Jammu city.
57-year-old Lohia is suspected to have been murdered by her 23-year-old domestic servant Yasir Ahmed.

Yasir Ahmed was arrested on Tuesday (October 4).
Lohia was found with her throat slit at around 11:45 pm on October 3.

Apart from this, Lohia also suffered burn injuries.
The body of DG Jails, Jammu and Kashmir was found under suspicious circumstances. Initial examination of the crime scene suggests that it is a suspected murder case,” J&K Additional DGP Mukesh Singh had said.
“The J&K police family expresses grief and deep sorrow over the death of their senior officer,” he added.

Meanwhile, an unknown group has claimed responsibility for the killing of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) Director General of Police (Prisons) Hemant Kumar Lohia.

The group said it was a “small gift” to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, who began a three-day visit to the area on Monday.
A group called the People’s Anti-Fascist Front (PAFF) claimed that its “special forces” carried out an “intelligence-led” operation to kill Lohia.

“It is a small gift for the home minister to visit amid such a security grid. …We will continue such operations…,” the group said in a note circulated on social media.
Lohia was a 1992 batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer.

He was posted as DGP (Prisons) in Jammu and Kashmir in August this year.

According to reports, Lohia was a resident of Athgaon area of ​​Guwahati in Assam.

He was an alumnus of Guwahati Commerce College in Guwahati, Assam.
