Jairam Ramesh slams BJP as G20 hype in Delhi, Manipur in curfew

Imphal: Congress leader Jairam Ramesh took to micro-blogging site “X” (formerly Twitter) to criticize the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party government at the Center over the upcoming G20 summit as Manipur is engulfed in violence.
In another post on X, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said, “G20 is happening in New Delhi while total curfew will be in place for the next 5 days in all 5 districts of Imphal Valley. The violence continues even after 4 months. Yes, but the situation in Manipur is ‘normal’ for the Modi government’s double engine government.
The Congress leader had earlier taunted Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that the government had forgotten Manipur amid the G20 summit.
In a lengthy post on X, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh said: “While the Prime Minister and his drummers are obsessed with the G20, four months after the communal violence on May 3, Manipur lies to Modi. The government forgot.
“The Chief Minister has ensured that the Manipuri society today is more divided than ever. The Union Home Minister has failed to end the violence and ensure the recovery of arms and ammunition. Instead, many Armed groups have entered the conflict.
