IOC to transport fuel to Tripura via Bangladesh
During the trial run, the IOC will transport three LPG tankers and seven tankers of petrol and diesel through Bangladesh from Guwahati.
Agartala: PSU significant Indian Oil Company (IOC) will before long lead a preliminary attempt for moving fuel to Tripura through Bangladesh, an authority said on Tuesday.
During the preliminary attempt, the IOC will ship three LPG big haulers and seven big haulers of petroleum and diesel through Bangladesh from Guwahati. Each LPG big hauler can ship 17 mt of gas, while each oil big hauler has the limit of conveying 12,000 liters, he said.
“IOC has previously consented to an arrangement with the Bangladeshi experts in Dhaka on August 3. We have looked for visas for the drivers and their collaborators to drive the big haulers through the adjoining country,” a senior IOC official told PTI.
“When the visas are given, the LPG and oil big haulers will move for the preliminary attempt on the elective street through Bangladesh. We are totally prepared for this,” he said.
The fuel-conveying big haulers from Guwahati in Assam will go to Dwaki in Meghalaya, where they will enter Bangladesh. The big haulers will reappear India at Kailashahar in Tripura’s Unakoti area to arrive at IOC’s Dharmangar station in North Tripura.
“The cycle for the preliminary attempt has been started. In the event that the preliminary attempt is effective, IOC will utilize the elective street to supply fuel to Tripura if there should be an occurrence of unexpected improvements later on,” the authority said.
PTI had announced in May that IOC was wanting to ship fuel to Tripura through Bangladesh after floods and avalanches crushed the correspondence joins in the Northeastern area.
