In the early hours of March 27, a team of Indian Army personnel was carrying out an operational task in the forward area of the Tawang sector when it was hit by a sudden, massive landslide that generated debris 6-7 feet high. And it was included. Fallen trees, rock and soil.
Subedar AS Dhagale was trapped in the waste while all the others managed to escape unharmed.
A search operation was immediately launched to find him.
The bodies of Subedar AS Dhagale were recovered from the landslide site around 10:50 am on Saturday, after an extensive search that lasted for four days and involved several teams and special equipment. The remains of the deceased have been shifted to Tawang District Hospital.
Sub AS Dhagale belonged to Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. He is survived by his wife and two daughters.
A floral wreath will be placed in Tawang before the deceased is sent to the hometown.
