India concludes Asian games 2023 with record 107 on medals table

The 19th edition of the Asian Games in Hangzhou, China came to a grand close on October 8 with a grand closing ceremony.
India’s star-studded contingent contributed to making this edition one of the most memorable sporting events in the country’s history, and achieved a historic feat by crossing 100 medals for the first time in the history of the Asian Games.
With a record-breaking tally of 107 medals, including 28 gold, 38 silver and 41 bronze, India’s athletes have demonstrated their extraordinary talent and resilience at the international level.
This remarkable achievement is a landmark moment in India’s sporting history, cementing the legacy of all the athletes who participated.
India’s stellar performance at the 19th Asian Games was highlighted by outstanding achievements in various disciplines.
Shooting bagged 22 medals including seven gold. Athletics, which featured Neeraj Chopra’s successful defense of the javelin throw title, bagged six gold medals out of a total of 29 medals. Archery saw a clean sweep of five gold medals in the compound team category, taking the total to nine medals.
Apart from sporting achievements in cricket, kabaddi and hockey, Indian athletes have also excelled in wrestling, boxing, squash, rowing, badminton, sailing, tennis, horse riding, chess, roller skating, bridge, golf, wushu, canoeing, sepak takraw and Performed brilliantly.
