Indefinite bandh along Nagaland border rocks Manipur Assembly

Imphal: The first three-day first session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly ended on Saturday. On the last day of the Assembly session, Chief Minister N Biren Singh introduced the Manipur Nursing Council Rules 2008 in the House.

During the meeting, two special bills of Manipur were also passed. These bills are Manipur Appropriation Bill (No. 1) 2022 and Manipur Appropriation (No. 2) Bill 2022.

Before passing the bills, Congress MLA Ranjit Singh drew the attention of the House to the indefinite closure / houses of National Highway-2 called by the Southern Angami Public Organization (SAPO).

Responding to MLA Ranjit Singh, CM Baran Singh, who is also the Leader of the House, explained that the issue of Dzukou Valley is an old issue and any untoward incident between some sections of the people of Manipur and Nagaland. To address this, the government has been taking steps from time to time.

The Chief Minister said that after the construction of roads by the Manipur government, transportation to Dzukou Valley has become easier and now people can access the valley from Mao.
