Agartala: Three Bangladeshi nationals, including one minor girl, were detained by the Government Railway Police (GRP) at Dharmanagar Railway Station in Tripura’s North District while en route to West Bengal in search of work on Tuesday night.
Police sources revealed that these three Bangladeshi nationals, who had illegally entered the Indian territories, were apprehended in Tripura while heading towards West Bengal.
“The Government Railway Police arrested them at Dharmanagar railway station on Tuesday night. The group includes two women, Salma Begum (23) and Tahira Begum (42), along with a minor girl named Samina. They were identified as residents of Amtali village in the Moulviganj police station under the Basirhat district. The GRP handed them over to Tripura Police yesterday,” stated a police officer.
During an interaction with reporters, Tahira Begum claimed that with the help of a Bangladeshi tout, they entered India with the intention of reaching West Bengal.
