In West Siang man arrested for raping 13 years old minor
On extortion charges, a Lakhimpur senior BJP leader arrested
Itanagar: Police in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Sunday arrested a man for allegedly kidnapping and raping a minor girl, an officer said.
Superintendent of Police Abhimanyu Poswal said that on June 22, two men allegedly abducted and raped a 13-year-old girl in West Siang district.
“We have arrested one accused, while the other is still absconding,” the SP said without giving details due to the ongoing investigation.
He said that the police has intensified its operations to arrest the absconding accused.
Meanwhile, Jaishek Pari, in-charge of Aalo Women Police Station, said that a case has been registered against the accused under Section 376 (sexual assault) of IPC as well as the POCSO Act at Aalo Women Police Station.
The OC appealed to people who have any information about the accused to come forward and share it with the police.
