Agartala: Six people, including a child, died during a Rath Yatra in Tripura’s Unakoti district on Wednesday June 28. Six people, including a child, died when a chariot caught fire in a Rath Yatra.
The incident took place at Kumarghat in Unakoti district of Tripura at around 4:30 pm.

The chariot caught fire when it hit a high-tension wire, resulting in an explosion.
Apart from the six killed, at least 15 others were injured in the incident.

Meanwhile, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has expressed his condolences to the families of the victims.
Tripura CM Manik Saha said: “In a tragic incident, several devotees lost their lives and a few others were injured due to electrocution during Alta Rath Yatra at Kumar Ghat.”

“My deepest condolences to the bereaved families who lost their near and dear ones in this tragedy. The state government stands by the bereaved families in this difficult time.
TIPRA Chairman Pradyot Debbarma also condoled the death of the six devotees.

“On hearing about the horrific incident at Kumarghat during Rath Yatra, my prayers and condolences go out to all those affected. I have immediately asked all my local MLAs and MDCs to They should provide all possible help,” said TIPRA Chairman Pradyot Debbarma.
