In the midst of an ongoing meeting between Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad and the civil bodies in Tura on July 24, violence broke out outside the CMO in Tura, ACHIK, GHSMC.
A large mob reportedly gathered outside CMO Tura and started pelting stones.
The police retaliated by firing tear gas shells to control the situation to disperse the crowd. As a result of the incidents and riots, 5 police personnel were also injured.
Further, the CM and PHE Minister are monitoring the matter at CMO Tura.
Sources also claim that the stone pelters were outsiders and had come with their own vested interests.
