
In Tirap freedom fighter of NSCN (K-YA) surrendered before police
Itanagar: A freedom fighter of the banned revolutionary outfit National Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN K-YA) surrendered before the Tirap police in Arunachal Pradesh on October 22.
The freedom fighter of revolutionary outfit NSCN (K-YA), identified as Lt Wanghong Nokpa, surrendered before PS Lazubefore OC PS Lazu SI L Kimsing and 6th AR team.
He surrendered with 9 mm pistol and 3 rounds of ammunition. Later he was brought by the District Police and 6 Assam Rifles to Deputy Commissioner Tirap to receive the surrender certificate.
The surrendered freedom fighter revealed on interrogation that during the year 1999 when he was in Class VI at Barap Middle School, he along with 18 other young boys were recruited into his organization by then NSCN(K) Captain Kewang Diotsa.
He then completed 3 months of basic training and joined the SS Private rank after training. During his stay there, he had to face a lot of physical and mental difficulties.
He was tortured by other militants and was never given any stipend in the camp so he escaped from CHQ, Lahong via Ngaimong village in Myanmar and surrendered to take care of his family came directly to Lazu police station, as claimed by the freedom fighter.
He said that he was misled when he joined the camp and appealed to the youth to stay away from such anti-national elements.
