Guwahati: Security forces reportedly apprehended a suspected freedom fighter of the NSCN (IM) and seized a substantial cache of weapons and ammunition in Tinsukia, Assam.
The incident took place on September 12 and resulted in the seizure of three hand grenades, two pistol magazines, two pistols, and 50 live cartridges.
The arrested cadre has been taken into custody for further interrogation.
The motive behind the suspected person being in Assam is being investigated.
This operation follows a similar crackdown on August 31, where Arunachal police arrested NSCN freedom fighters and recovered extortion money in Naharlagun.
