In Thoubal angry mob burn down two BJP offices in 24 hours
Imphal: The situation in Manipur remains tense after the latest violence in the state following the ‘murder’ of two Meitei students. Two offices of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have been set ablaze by angry mobs in Manipur in the last 24 hours.
The two BJP offices that were set on fire are located in Thoubal district of Manipur.
The burning of BJP offices in Manipur is seen by many as a move by mobs to vent their anger against the ruling party, which is still normal in the state almost five months later. Failed to deliver.
While an angry mob set ablaze the BJP mandal office in Manipur’s Thoubal district on Wednesday (September 27), another party office in Wangjing in the same district also came under attack by an angry mob.
According to reports, the BJP office in Wangjing area of Manipur’s Thoubal district was vandalized by an angry mob and the furniture there was set on fire.
This was not the first time that BJP offices in Manipur came under mob attack amid the ongoing caste riots.
In June, miscreants ransacked three BJP offices in Thoubal district of Manipur.
Meanwhile, fresh protests have erupted in Imphal Valley over the death of two missing students.
The situation turned tense again on Wednesday, with students from different parts of the Imphal Valley taking out protest rallies against the killings.
