
In Tamil Nadu youth from South Garo Hills goes missing
Tura: A youth from Dangsubil village in Dimapara in the South Garo Hills, who had gone to Tamil Nadu in search of work, is reportedly missing since last week.
The youth, identified as Mimu T. Sangma, had traveled from Assam’s Paikan to Tamil Nadu with an unknown person before he went missing on May 1. According to reports, Sangma’s reason for going to Tamil Nadu was to work in a business called Vertex Company in the village of Mosur in Tamil Nadu.
The missing youth is the son of Nidol R. Marak and late Sonila T Sangma.
Sangma’s family filed a missing report at the Dimapara infiltration check post on May 9.
Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has also been requested to take up the matter with his Tamil Nadu counterpart and ensure the safe return of the missing youth.
Meanwhile, the local unit of ADE from Gasuapara, under which Dimapara is located, has requested youths in the area to refrain from traveling to other parts of the country for work without proper verification.
