
In search operations security forces arrested 4 freedom fighters
Imphal: 2 Overground Workers (OGW) each of the banned rebel group Revolutionary People’s Front RPF/PLA, National Socialist Council of Nagalim Isak Muivah (NSCN-IM) and Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) were arrested. Various search operations, Manipur Police said on 29 August.
These arrests were made on August 28, 2023.
A search operation was conducted by security forces in the outskirts and vulnerable areas of Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal and Kakching districts, police said.
The statement added that 6 weapons, 5 ammunitions and 2 explosives were recovered during the search operations from Imphal East and Bishnupur districts.
Taking to its X-handle (Twitter), Manipur Police wrote, โSearch operation, recovery of arms and ammunition and arrest: Security forces in Imphal-West, Imphal-East, Bishnupur, Thoubal edge and vulnerable areas. ) and recovered 06 (six) arms, 5 (five) ammunitions and 02 (two) explosives from Kakching Districts and Imphal East and Bishnupur Districts. On 28.08.2023 Manipur Police RPF /Arrested 01 (one) active freedom fighter of PLA. (one) active freedom fighter of NSCN (IM) and 02 (two) OGW of KCP (Lamyanba Khuman).โ
