In Naxal Attack 11 DRG Personnel Killed in Dantewada

Dantewada: At least 11 personnel were killed after an improvised explosive device (IED) attack by Naxalites on a vehicle carrying District Revenue Guard (DRG) personnel in Chhattisgarh’s Dantewada on Wednesday.

According to initial reports, the attack took place near Aranpur, the details of which were confirmed by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.
ANI quoted the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister as saying, “We have such information. It is very sad. My condolences to the bereaved families. This fight is in its last phase. Naxalites will not be spared.”

Meanwhile, he wrote on Twitter, “News of our 10 DRG jawans and a driver killed in IED blast on DRG force during anti-Naxal operation on information about presence of Maoist cadre under Aranpur. The police station area of ​​Dantewada is very sad.
“We all the people of the state pay our respects to him. We all share the grief of his family. May his soul rest in peace,” he added.

Earlier in February this year, three DRG security personnel, including an assistant sub-inspector, were killed in an encounter with Naxalites in Chhattisgarh’s restive Sukma district, police said.
Bastar Range Inspector General of Police (IG) P Sundarraj said the incident took place between Jagargunda and Kunded under Jagarganda police station limits around 9 am on Saturday.

The slain DRG security personnel have been identified as ASI Ramuram Nag, Assistant Constable Kunjum Joga and Sen. Vinjum Bheema, the officer added.
“This morning, a DRG team was out on a combing operation and when they reached Jagarganda and Kunded, the Naxalites opened fire,” the IG said.

The officer further said that as the Naxalites opened fire, the security personnel started retaliating.

Based on accurate information about the presence of Naxalites, the security forces launched an operation and launched an ambush. According to police sources, the Naxalites have also suffered a lot in the encounter.
