Itanagar: The Arunachal Wushu group won 10 awards and arose as the general bosses in the Khelo India Senior Public Wushu Ladies’ Association 2022-23.
The group won 6 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze decorations at the games held at Chandigarh College in Mohali, Punjab from January 23 to 27.
While Mepung Lamgu won two gold decorations in the Taichiquan and Taijian (Taolu) contests, Benevolence Ngaimong likewise won two gold awards in the Jianshu and Qianshu (Taolu) rivalries.
Nyeman Wangsu and Onilu Tega won gold in the Changquan (Taolu) and 52 kg (Sanda) classes separately.
Yorna Rosni won two bronze decorations in Nanquan and Nandao (Taolu) while Realu Boo added one more bronze to the state’s award count in Taijijian (Taolu).
Gyamar Yatop won the silver award in the under 48 kg (Sanda) class.
The state wushu group under the aegis of All Arunachal Pradesh Wushu Affiliation (AAPWA) was driven by Kishen Chetia as mentor and Likha Tadh as supervisor.
