
In Moreh, 32 Myanmar origin individuals held by security forces
Imphal: Manipur Police personnel along with Assam Rifles and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel conducted a search operation in Moreh town of the state.
A search operation was conducted in Manipur’s Moreh town on Wednesday November 01.
During the operation, around 44 persons, allegedly belonging to the Kuki community, were detained by the forces.
Of the 44 people detained, 32 “belong to Myanmar”.
The search operation in Manipur’s Moreh town is part of the crackdown launched by the forces in the state after the killing of Mora’s SDPO Chingtham Anand.
Mora SDPO Chingtham Anand was allegedly killed in an ambush by suspected Kuki militants in Manipur.
Reacting to the operations in Manipur’s Moreh town, senior state BJP leader Rajkumar Imu Singh said: “Strongest action needs to be initiated against any insurgent groups and individuals who attack civilians and security forces. fighting a war.”
The Manipur BJP leader added: “The sacrifice of our beloved police officers and common people will not go in vain.”
“Let us all support our forces and ensure that the government catches all the culprits as soon as possible and punish them.
Let us also identify all the illegal immigrants in Mora and take appropriate action as per the law,” He added.
